Parts Review:
Bones Reds
May 17 , 2003
By: Mike
These are probably some of the best bearings available on the market today. They were developed by the people at Bones to be an affordable alternative to their well-known Bones Cermaics and Bones Swiss bearings. In creating a cheaper alternative, very little quality was lost between models. Each package comes with set of 8 bearings, pre-lubed with Speed Cream, 4 spacers, instructions and a sticker. All of this for a suggested retail price of $16.00 US. I don't think you can find many other companies which has such great quality for such a low price.

The first set of bones I ever got were suggested to me over a year ago by the guy working behind the counter at some skateshop in Michigan. I have had those bearings for over a year now and they still roll perfectly. After 8 months with them one of the bearings was locking up so I just added some oil to them and they were spinning like new again. Since then, I have bought another set of bones for my filming board and they have not had to be re-oiled after a good 4 months of use. Occasionaly I take them off the board and wipe off all of the dirt on the red shield. Overall, if you want some quality bearings designed for skateboarding and aren't willing to hand over $120.00 US for Bones Swiss Ceramics, the Reds are definatly for you.
