As
every part of skateboard becomes more and more modern,
'they' were looking for a way to change wheels.
And here we are now with sidecuts. The moment i
saw them in an ad (talk about persuasive) i knew
i wanted to try them. So i go and get the dough
and head over to my skate shop... lucky for me they
are there. So i buy them, and go to skate, not really
expecting anything different than normal. Little
did i know! Almost instantly when i started skating
the new 52mm flip sidecuts i was attached to them.
They're shape helps more than i thought it would.
Of course, it makes manuals/nose manuals easy to
balance. Yet you have to adjust to not having to
move forward and backward as much and concentrate
more on your side to side balance. Any flipping
tricks were landed crisper because of the shape
of the wheel, you wouldn't find yourself on the
rounded edge of the wheel like most wheels. Another
plus, besides their shape is their lightness. Which
is great for 'technical' stuff.
One
of the negatives i saw, which is basically a given
because of their shape, is that the tip of the
truck sticks out... since the wheels have their
side cut off like it's name says, there is not
that part where the rest of the wheel would normally
be to hide the tip of the truck. i thought this
would be a major minus .. but the only thing that
really does is wear down the tip of the truck.
Besides that you may have a few owner mad at you
for scraping their benches and 'property' as they
call it, while we call it 'skate-able goods left
out irresponsibly' ... really if they don't want
us 'damaging' their stuff they shouldn't leave
it laying about.
Anyways,
whoever 'they' are that invented these wheels
deserves the props. so.. PROPS! Wheels get a 9/10
from me.
